ong>>What is Freedom?<
Christ has set us free, we must therefore stay free, and don’t get tied up with slavery to the law again
•Christ died to set us free from long list of rules and regulation, but not free to do what we want because that can lead us back into slavery i.e. self desires.
What is Freedom?
•Grace to do what we could not do before
•We are no longer under bondage of flesh-selfish desires.
•We no longer answer to the call of the flesh, but could answer to God , to love, and to live a selfless life by grace Gal 5vs 13-15
•Paul distinguish between freedom to sin and freedom to serve.
•Freedom to sin is no freedom at all because it exposes one to Satan or sinful nature.
•Freedom to serve is a grace, power and ability given to us through our Lord Jesus Christ to yield to God, to do right, and to glorify God through loving service to others. Ephesians 5 vs. 1
•“Watch what God does, and do it, like a children who learn proper behavior from their parents”
•Freedom therefore is a nature, the very life God wants us to live. We are free to love, to help, to forgive and to do all good deeds. We no longer answer to sin’s becks and calls. Perfect love cast out all fears.
•As a Christians, we still have capacity to sin, but we have been set free from sin’s power and we no longer have to give in to it again. We must daily commit our sinful tendencies to God’s control. Daily crucify them and moment by moment draw power from the holy spirit through obedience to God’s word to overcome. Ye have overcome them little children for greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world’. GAL. 6vs. 14, Gal. 2 vs 20.
•Paul was hated because he preached the true Gospel
•Has friend , family, or love ones rejected you because of Christ or because you’ve taken a stand for Christ?
•Jesus said we should not be surprised at all if the world hate us, because its has first hated Him( John 15 vs 18-19)
• Just has Paul faithfully continue in His ministry we also should continue doing the ministry given to us by God in spite of obstacles others may put on our ways
