key Scriptures: Joshua 1:8, 3 Jn 2, Psalm 1, Gen 39
In our clime, when we hear prosperity, our minds go to mansions, private jets and the lavish lifestyles of celebrities. We see the blings, and an appearance of the flow of unending supply of anything money or what it can buy. Some people scheme themselves in to marry into prosperous families to change their lot……all about the Benjamins! #money
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do”. Joshua 1:8
That doesn’t add up, does it? How will studying God’s word, meditating on it day and night, as well as doing what it says make me prosper? How does that translate to alert (prosperity) the way we know it? Surely, God’s definition is not ours; as ALL that we see from where we stand is a tiny dot out of the full scope of what God is talking about.
And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. Gen 39:2
Joseph, a slave, prosperous??? How? Surely, we need to understand what God calls prosperous.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prosperity. 3 John:2
Prosperity by God’s definition as seen by the scriptures above, is the consequence of a relationship with God and His Word. Psalm 1 makes that abundantly clear!
True prosperity cuts across all aspect of our lives! That’s our spirit, soul and body.
To prosper in body, soul and spirit has one clear EVIDENCE – Fruitfulness. Remember, by their fruits you shall know them. If we are truly prosperous, we will have true wealth, our Character and our disciples will be evident.
May you all prosper!!!
