Christ simply means the anointed one (Christos). The entire scripture is weaved around him from Genesis where he is called the seed of the woman to Revelation where he shows up as the alpha and Omega. We realise that all the treasures of Wisdom and knowledge are in him.In Christ alone, not philosophies, vain deceits, human traditions of the Jews and gentiles or the world principalities will be found the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
No one has ever seen God, but the one and only son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the father, has made him known. (JN 1:18-NLT)
Therefore without the scripture, which has Jesus Christ alone for its object, we know nothing, and see only darkness and confusion in the nature of God, and in our own nature.
He is the source of all things, the beginning and the end.
We are called to be CHRIST and not to be Christlike.”For as many that recieved him, to them he gave the power to become the sons of God (Christ).” For Christ is the head and we are his body.
A warning comes to us in verse 6 and 8 of Col 2,warning us to beware of being spoiled through Philosophies, traditions of men and empty superstitions. Therefore, we are to know Christ so intimately, so as not to be derailed by the imitation of Christ (False Christ). There are plenty of them in the land today as prophesied in Mt 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” This imitation was so much like the original, that so many were deceived-The object of deception was GREAT SIGNS AND WONDERS.
You have been deceived already by false Christs when the power of God to solve your problems and bring healing to you is more important than the character of God gotten by having an intimate knowledge of God and his word.
Entering his fullness is something you don’t figure out or achieve. Its not a matter of being circumcised or keeping a long list of Laws but rather through what Christ has done.
Who is Christ? A person? An Organism? A company?
Christ is all of this.
Christ is a many membered Organism – made up of Jesus the anointed one, the Head, and His true anointed disciples, his body. Christ is not someone we can ever become like, he’s someone we can be found in! The word in Christ shows up over 85 times in the New Testament, while the word Christ-like shows up 3 times, and each time it was the rendition of how the world saw disciples.
Christ is manifest in the person of Jesus Christ, revealed as Jesus the head and the true church his body. Christ is the overcomes company, he is the vine, and we are his branches.
We are in Christ – plugged into him as his members while Jesus is our head.
Christ is in us – it is no longer we that live, but Christ that lives in us.
We are in Christ as we are clothed by him, we were him as our designer fashion, we are in him.
We are in Christ when in the drama of life we get into Christ character, and live him fully.
Am I still walking in the shadow of Christ? Keeping holy days and festivals, wearing holy garments, burning incense and candles? When that which is perfect (Christ) has come, that which is in part (Ordinances) shall be done away with. 1 Cor 13:10
I am Born again to become Christ; therefore Christ has to be formed in me daily till I attain the full stature in Christ.
Everywhere he went he was doing good, he healed the sick, fed the hungry and met the needs of all those that came across him.Above all he manifested the Character of Christ (Love) while manifesting the power of Christ.
I commit to being Christ to my world, expressing him in all my sphere of influence.
Oh that Christ may be truly formed in me as I grow daily to full stature in him.
