In a world where many have termed God’s will to mean many things starting from marital quest to career and business pursuit, it will be complete foolishness to be ignorant of what God wants while we claim to belong to Him.
Everyman has a will, a deliberate or fixed desire or an intention. For most people, it is usually not difficult to know what is their topmost priority. In a conversation or two, one will be able to discern the priority and intention of the other. We often cannot resist it, it’s like a fire that burns within seeking to ignite and consume everything it touches. Our will and passion is so strong, it cannot be hidden for long. If our scripting is this powerful and energy consuming, how much more God almighty?
Jesus declared in John 6:38-40
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
God’s will in simple terms is to ensure that everyone who will behold Jesus Christ and believe in Him may to everlasting life and be raise up at the last day. This is the will of the Father and this is only made possible though the work of discipleship. As many people that will join in the work of ensuring that Christ is seen by everyone so that they may believe in Him are the ones doing the Father’s will.
Do you understand the Father’s will? Are you doing the Father’s will?
